Leonie is our Assistant Production Manager and started at G&G as an apprentice (even winning Intermediate Apprentice of the Year Award). She's come a long way in her G&G journey and she's not stopping anytime soon!
Meet our team - Leonie, Assistant Production Manager
How did you get into this job?
I started at G&G in July 2017 as an embroidery apprentice, after finishing my A-Levels. I studied Psychology, Chemistry and 3D Art. I applied for an apprentice role at Goose and Gander because I thought working at a smaller company would offer me more one to one learning and a chance to grow with the business.
How has G&G changed since you first started?
When I started, we were based at the small shop in Wotton, where we only had two single head embroidery machines to work on! Now we have 2 industrial units with room for manufacturing and production, marketing, designing and photoshoots!
Winning Apprentice of the Year!
What does your job entail?
My responsibility has grown with the business as well, when I started I mostly did embroidery but did other tasks such as making the shipping labels (we had to manually type out the address one by one for each order, now we scan a barcode and it prints it ready for us) and folding the garments.
I was offered the position of Assistant Production Manager 8 months after starting at G&G, now my job entails training new staff, ordering in stock and helping maintain the production flow among other things. I still help with production of orders, every member of the production team does a bit of everything; DTG printing, vinyl and embroidery. Embroidery will always be my favourite!
What's your favourite part about working for G&G?
Goose and Gander is a fun and fast paced environment, it can be hard work and a bit manic especially around Christmas but we all help each other to get your orders out!
What are your 3 favourite garms from G&G?
If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be?
If I could be anywhere in the world, I would be on a beach in Cornwall. It’s calm and relaxing, and not too hot because it’s so windy! Also no grass = no hay fever!

What was the last thing you bought?
The last thing I bought was coffee pods for my Nespresso machine. I got the machine for Christmas one year, it makes me feel like an adult and like I have my life together!
