Roy is the brains behind most of our designs, when he's not creating new designs he's helping out on production and hogging the speaker as resident DJ.
Meet our team - Roy, Creative Assistant
How did you first learn about Goose & Gander?
When my sister asked me to do the branding for her and Ol’s new business and I reluctantly agreed.
What and where did you study?
I studied Graphic Communication and Typography at Plymouth University after enjoying graphics as a hobby but I ended up hating the course. My attendance in the last year was around 10% and ended up getting 41/100. I don’t work well under pressure, really hated back up work and didn’t get along with any of my lectures so turned out it wasn’t really for me but I battled through and scraped a pass. Very much enjoyed the social side of university and met some amazing people which made it all worth it.

What does your job entail?
I do a majority of the clothing design, coming up with new product collections, making/testing samples, styling male outfits and coming up with general ideas to further the business but then working in production when we need to get those orders out.
What’s your favourite part about the job and working for G&G?
I get to channel my creative energy into something that people appreciate. It has also given me the opportunity to work with family which considering me and my sister used to be at each other's throats has definitely strengthened our relationship. Now I can’t imagine working anywhere else...
What are your 3 favourite garms from G&G?
Goose Ribbon Trackies (I’ve had 3 pairs in my lifetime), Multi Text L/S Tee and anything limited stock.
What do you get up to outside of work?
I’ve been playing a variety of instruments and singing since the tender age of 7 and in recent years have started djing in clubs, supporting the likes of Friction and Benny Page. Since lockdown I decided to pour my spare time into music production and have started live-streaming every Sunday on my insta, my soundcloud and insta are neckonthedeck if you wanna take a peek. I’m also a big fan of wild camping / hiking which I’ve done all over Europe and in the UK.

You could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be?
Got plans to go to Scotland, New Zealand, South Korea, various cities in Scandinavia/Russia, a road trip down the west coast of America, visit friends in Barcelona, a lads trip to Berlin and a festival near Prague, once covid has blown over of course…
Give us one interesting fact about you.
I’ve got an abnormally long neck.
