Woodland has a special place in the Goose & Gander story. It’s a theme that gives us room to explore character, delicate embroidery and thoughtful details. For our latest launch, we’ve revisited that familiar world, bringing our Woodland embroidery together with gingham across a coordinated outfit. At the heart of the collection is a collaboration between two of our designers, a much-loved original concept and a creative use for fabric left over along the way.
A familiar idea, reimagined
Maisie, who has been part of Goose & Gander for six years, created the original Woodland design concept. This year, she’s worked closely with Ellie-Mae to reimagine that embroidery and explore how gingham could become part of the story. Their work brings together the Made in England gingham shorts and the delicately embroidered Toadstool Sweatshirt. With navy, burgundy and forest green colour options, the pairing gives our woodland theme a fresh expression while keeping the character of the original idea.
It’s all in the details
One of our favourite details began with the fabric left over from cutting the shorts. Those spare pieces of gingham have been used to create a matching decoration for the sweatshirt, connecting the two garments through the very same fabric. It’s a small touch that brings the full outfit together and an opportunity to turn leftover material into something worth noticing.
That connection between embroidery and gingham became central to Maisie and Ellie-Mae’s approach: considering how each piece could complement the other, right down to the smallest detail.
